[Yum] reposync 32 bit repo on 64 bit host

 The problem is that 'i386' means i386 packages and below, but nothing
ships i386 anymore. What you probably want is i686 or athlon or
something, as the other poster said x86_64 will also work but it might
not be obvious why.
