[Yum] yum: command not found

Ah, it says, package yum is not installed.
I do have the files in /etc though. So how do I install it? I read Yum was part of Fedora 4 anyway.
Thanks again for your help. Any further pointers are much appreciated.

just for fun run this:
rpm -q yum
rpm -ql yum
echo $PATH
and post the output here.
