[Yum] Yum and python-sqlite-2.1.3

Also the fact that python-sqlite-2.1.3 is present in the fedora extra
repository, but named as python-sqlite2
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/extras/development/SR
PMS/python-sqlite2-2.1.3-4.fc5.src.rpm
While yum puts a dependency on python-sqlite which is in the core
repository and is packaged as python-sqlite
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/development/SRPM
S/python-sqlite-1.1.7-1.2.src.rpm
This makes me believe that there are some incompatibilities between the
two and yum will work only with the old 1.1 line, as far as I could
test, yum seems to work with the 2.1.3 release of python-sqlite. So
should the dependency be changed to python-sqlite2 ? If not why should
we use the older 1.1 line ?
Thanks in advance for all the help

Hello Peter,
Thanks for the reply, my concern is not with sqlite. Sqlite is already
at the latest version 3.3.3(almost, 3.3.4 being the latest now), but the
python binding to sqlite
(python-sqlite-1.1.7-1.2.src.rpm) . The new line for this is 2.1
As I mentioned earlier I could build the yum rpms with
python-sqlite-2.1.3 and it seems to work, is there a test suit or any
other way I can test all the functionality of yum.
Thanks

Search the list archives. IIRC within the last month a bug was open with
fedora and sql-lite due to crashes that the most recent sqllite was
causing.
Follow that bug and you've probably got your answer.

The 5 year plan:
In five years we'll make up another plan.
Or just re-use this one.
