same way rpm does. It's a conflict, it shouldn't happen. It can't be
detected via rpm until AFTER you run a test transaction, though.

it uses the internal package md5, sha1 and gpg checksums

not sure what this means

ssh is my remote admin too.

also not sure what this means.
you can have multiple repositories listed in the yum.conf, sure.
