oops, I *completely* missed the point - you want to *mix*
binary rpms from two *different* YDL-versions.

Don't do this, update to YDL 4.0 instead, or try to rebuild the source rpms
and install your rebuilt versions. 

It *might* work with the YDL 4.0 binary rpms,
but you need to ask about that on a on a Yellow-Dog mailing list,
this list is about yum itself. ;-)
