[Yum] Howto add repositories

When I added yum repositories to my /etc/yum.conf,
I hang at this point;

[root at localhost booda]# yum upgrade
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: ATrpms good for rhl 9
Server: Red Hat Linux 9 - i386 - Base
Server: Fedora Project update RPMS for RHL 9
Server: Freshrpms packages for Red Hat Linux 9

and can get no farther. If I leave only the stock repositories yum works
just fine,except no upgrades.
