Seems like that's exactly the space Troy is trying to wiggle into.  I
can appreciate that.  I kinda like it, frankly.  For a small number of
boxes, it might be nice to be notified when an upgrade happens.  The
question of what the default should be (ie. cater to the home users
with default=1 or to the big users with default=0) gets real ugly real
fast.  Here, I refer to the default invocation in the cron script.
