[Yum] Groups

Hello,
I'm having a problem trying to figure out how to do groups.
I guess the biggest problem I'm having is figuring out how to make a group. 
Where does the file go (on the server side, on the client side, both, either)? 
  What is the format for a group file?
Is there an example for one?

p.s. I have to say, I'm quite impressed.  For such a small amount of code, yum 
does it's job very well.
