[Yum-devel] "bug" in yum-security

Yes, please open a bug.  Guessing from the repo paths is's RHEL6.2

We know what's happening, 'yum makecache' does not uncompress
the downloaded updateinfo.xml.gz, and '$ yum -C' can't do that later.

I've posted a simple fix, but it has issues.

Also, this problem (and some other as well) were kinda fixed by

but that makes the '# yum makecache' part useless.
