I assume this is in line with comps changes upcoming in Fedora Core and
future versions of RHEL, correct? If so, I assume that means yum-2.5
and 2.6 will require us to rerun createrepo -g if we are using comps
groups today with yum-2.2 and 2.4. I believe this also means we will
not be able to mix yum 2.2, 2.4 and 2.6 against the same repos.

I guess when yum-2.6 is released I could rebuild my RHEL 3 and 4 repos
using a newer createrepo as long as the clients update to yum-2.6 at the
same time. What will older clients think about the new repo style? We
have hundreds of clients that may go offline for a week or more
(vacation, take laptop home, etc).

Has this upgrade path been considered? How painful will it be to
migrate clients from yum-2.2 (my current RHEL 3 setup) or yum-2.4 (my
current RHEL 4 setup) to yum-2.6?

Thanks.
