Exactly.  I think yum's most useful role is as a depsolver, and I
believe it would be extremely helpful as a build depsolver.  Plus, it
shouldn't take too much effort given that the basic dependency engine
carries over pretty well.

Just about anything but Python and C++, and I'd be game. :)
