My comment was meant in jest. All I was saying was that I thought the
somewhat subtle distinction b/t normative and indicative was a good one
to make and quite funny b/c for some people it will be so subtle of a
distinction that they might not understand it at all.

It was a compliment to you for taking note of the narrow distinction and
your command of english to be able to articulate it well.
