[Yum] YUM install [package.rpm] fails on Solaris, reports success

okay - then you're missing a bunch of patches most likely.

Grab the srpm from rhel5.4 for rpm and check out all the patches that are 
applied.

Try those out on your solaris build - tell me if any of them make the 
difference. I SWEAR I remember this problem affecting something else.
