why I don't recommend it is that whether anyone wants to believe it or
not people frequently need multiarch packages and it's not all that much
silliness to have them available for installs.

so do that. includepkgs= is in the man page for yum.conf, too.

x86_64 implies support for i386, i586, i686 as well - so setting the
arch that way wouldn't do anything that it doesn't do now.
