[Yum] yum-2.4.1 -not working ?

I  m using fedora3 (ver 2.6.12-1.1381~ ) and I have installed the above
ver of yum. Installation was succssful and there was yum- command
in /usr/bin, but when I tried to  use it - yum  check-updates /etc  ...,
I got the message  - no named modules installed : cElememtTree. ???
How do I get this module from python ?? Is this module supposed to be from
kernel dir of /usr/lib/ <ver no >  ??

NB :My previous installation of ym-2.2.2~ rpm from the distro also cant work
