Mate, That is the classic symptom of a proxy, but if it only affects your i386 repository and not any other repository, then something weird is going on. How do you access the other repositories? Do you create a local mirror for them? http://wiki.linux.duke.edu/YumFaq#Q5 should help you in debugging this if it is a proxy problem. Greg
