I had this problem yesterday again and I checked with netstat the 
connections and saw that yum had two TCP connections in CLOSE_WAIT state 
one to sunsite.dk and the other to ie.freshrpms.net. The interesting 
part is that yum sits there since a *whole day* and it's still in the 
CLOSE_WAIT state, is it possible that some kind of timeout is missing 
(just guessing)?
