Hi Neville,

I, too, encountered the problem. I've got the latest Mandrake rpm,
rpm-python-4.2.2-10mdk.i586.rpm, and it's definitely broken. I've
posted a question on the MandrakeExpert list but there's been no reply.

I have a nightly cron job to keep the file lists up to date. With that
and a fast mirror, "urpmi doodaa" is really quick and painless.

Yum has a nicer syntax than urpmi/urpme/urpm... It's also slower in
general, sometimes taking many minutes to resolve dependencies.

I've also found a urpmi mirror that gives me much better bandwidth than
for yum.

Having been forced back to using urpmi, I don't presently see any reason
to continue using yum.

Regards,

David
