Oops, I forgot about wild cards. You're right, but what about the approach on
packages rather than commands ? If one uses yum-libs as Michael said, in my
opinion this should be the best way of specifying packages since the
wildcards could be expanded properly. So "install foo*" followed by "erase
foobar*" would accomplish the expected thing.

You're right again. I admit that since I know very little Python programming
I'm not well suited for the job (at least not now :) ).
In conclusion I will write a few lines of code to implement the "run" queue
command as well and start using yum-queue for my personal stuff.
