Not sure I understand the question...

If the "base" repository has somepackage-1.0 and "updates-released" has
somepackage-1.1, I'd like to know if a version of somepackage other than
1.0 and 1.1 is installed.

"yum list extras" currently won't tell me if somepackage-2.0 is installed.
