Yes, this is the point I find completely useless as everyone is subject to
the whims of those who update the respositories. My problem wasn't with yum
except with regards to the concept itself.

Same response as point 1.
I have better things to do and run around looking for rpms to satisfy
dependancies of packages that someone puts in a repository without said
dependancies.

A good thing that in 10 years time packages like this will make bitches like
you - redundant.
