For whatever it is worth, I upgraded from RH8 to FC1 without problem
I just pointed the yum.conf to the FC1 repositories and yum did everything
by itself and FC1 is working quite fine, no problems. Nevertheless, YMMV.

My system was very standard, no special settings or customizations.
