damn it - I think I know what this is - it's a new rpm-broken-ism.

all items are being returned as lists, even if they will only ever be
one-item lists.

the reason I've not seen it yet is b/c it's been corrected in rpm in
fedora core.

it's not hard to correct, but really irritating.
