Oh, sorry, I misread this paragraph (I have seen you using these three
package to form a three-loop example ;).

No, indeed this is the same class of problem with a package requiring
a virtual capability provided by more than one package. Any policy
used there should apply here also.

A policy could be to bail out with "ambiguous solutions found, please
choose one". Another would be to pick the first one (BTW what does yum
do currently for such multiple provides?)
