One addendum - the biggest danger with upgrading the distro b/t major
versions using ANY method, be it yum, apt or anaconda is that there is a
STRONG possibility of cruft breaking things and/or a programs config
changing so dramatically as to break your running configuration.


My general rule is if you're going to do an in-place system upgrade is
this: Test Test Test on machines where their continued functioning is
non-essential.

You'd be shocked how often things get broken.
