[Yum] request clarification

Errr... when you say 'reeks' am I to take it that yum for major number 
version upgrades is a bad idea?  (Well, yes, *upgrades* are a bad idea in 
general, but someone always wants to do one anyway - it'd be nice if I 
had an answer for them :)
