Static typing?

I'm having a marvelous time trying to imagine it.  All I come up with is
a sort of pilobilus-modern-dance-thing with figures in black posed,
frozen, above a keyboard in strange postures, while colored lights
strobe an illusion of movement.

So no wonder you're having difficulty.  Turn off the damn strobe lights,
and take off the black suit!

Your friends can, of course, continue to hang around as long as they
keep their hands off of the keyboard:-)
