[Yum-devel] HTTP caching issues

Hi all,

For the past couple of days until today I was having troubles with the
DAG repository along the lines of:

http://apt.sw.be/fedora/3/en/i386/dag/repodata/primary.xml.gz: [Errno
-1] Metadata file does not match checksum
Trying other mirror.
Error: failure: repodata/primary.xml.gz from dag: [Errno 256] No more
mirrors to try.

I assumed it was something wrong at the repo end so I disabled it. Turns
out it was a HTTP caching issue. Here's someone else with the same
problem, and their workaround (note: Trent is my employer).

I know there was some talk not that long ago about disabling HTTP
caching. Was the support for this added to urlgrabber?

Obviously Yum should run with caching turned on most of the time, but
I'm wondering if it should automatically retry with nocache headers set
if it sees these checksum errors.... thoughts?

Regards,
Menno
