[Yum-devel] selinux and other pain

Hi guys,
 so, something interesting came up on irc not so long ago.

with fedora core 2 and selinux there is a desire to separate the roles
in selinux-speak of the rpm-installing part and the downloading shit
part.

so here is where it gets fun.

you'd have to fork the process for downloading off in order to change
roles.

So let's say we had a bad day and it was suggested, heavily, that yum
needed to fork off the downloading process in order to be selinux
'compliant'

can you think of interesting and inventive ways to do this nicely?

All the ways I can think of kinda suck and I'm afraid that is b/c all of
the ways to do this DO suck. Ideas?
