Hmm:

~> git clone http://linux.duke.edu/createrepo/git/createrepo.git createrepo
[..]
~> cd createrepo
~> git checkout -f maintenance
git checkout: updating paths is incompatible with switching branches/forcing
Did you intend to checkout 'maintenance' which can not be resolved as 
commit?

Any idea?
